LuigiEluca - re ad praesentare

The photographic oeuvre of Luca and Luigi, two young contemporary Italian artists, which was created in close personal cooperation in different work sections during the recent years is unusual, innovative, both in terms of form and content, but also regarding the modes of production of the images.

Unlike Gilbert & George, Pierre & Gilles or Mc Dermott & Mc Gough - all also artist couples who act collectively in the process of creation of their works, in the case of Luca and Luigi both are protagonists, photographers, one photographs the other and the other photographs the one. In a second step the final work is created from a digital marriage of the two images, which gives the impression that it could be a staging of the two, that had been photographed by a third person.
