Patrizia Zara: Alchidico

The paintings of artist Patrizia Zara engage our senses. One can almost sense the aroma and taste of vegetables and fruits, and feel the smooth or rough, soft or hard surfaces. In addition to focusing on the excellent craftsmanship of photorealistic painting, the Italian artist explores epistemological questions:

It involves, among other things, the interactions of time and space. While the left hand holds what is to be depicted, the right hand dances with the brush across the canvas. However, the connection to the things of nature, the fruits, is interrupted – between our hand and what sustains us, the food, lie words printed in a newspaper. In the work "Superbanana," the name of a philosopher stands out. The title plays with words - Nietzsche and the "Übermensch" are positioned between the hand, that is us, and the superfruit. The narrative element is the newspaper, which lies beneath the subject, thus elevating it. It is a play with realities; Nietzsche wrote: "Truths are illusions of which one has forgotten that they are such."

At KlettgauGalerie, you will see an exclusive selection of works by Patrizia Zara. Other exhibition locations include Milan, Paris, and Rome.
