Jessica Rimondi und Zoula Fürst

Jessica Rimondi is a painter from Italy. She observes everyday life and ordinary people, recognizing the beauty in the small things. She aims to capture the essence of these moments and express them in her paintings. Her artworks create an intimate dialogue between herself, the observer, and the subjects depicted. Currently, she is working on a new project that processes situations from daily life and relates them to the historical context of art. Influences from past artists and musicians shape her work, and her move to Berlin has altered her perspective. In Berlin, she finds constant inspiration in the new experiences that surround her.

The sensory method she employs is what she calls "controlled chaos," which helps her discover the true feelings of her subjects. She strives to follow the thoughts of her subjects through their gestures.

This year, Jessica won one of the Premio Ora awards, the "Purchase Award," for her painting "Vitae Volant, Manent Vitae." Premio Ora facilitates collaboration between Italian galleries and artists each year and also launches a second international competition with galleries from around the world. Her painting "Vitae Volant, Manent Vitae" is part of a series she worked on throughout the past year. Presenting this artwork was challenging for her, as it depicts elderly people nude by a lake, which some may consider unappealing. For her, it is a piece from her favorite series that reflects the poetry she has seen in people. She believes that people are beautiful in their true form.

Zoula Fürst was born in Ufa (Russia). In 1983, she graduated from the Pedagogical University in Ufa with a degree in painting, art education, and art history, and was accepted into the State Artists' Fund. In 1990, she took over the management of a fashion company. In 1993, she moved to Germany, where she began to focus on painting. She has since mastered all painting techniques, from pastels and acrylics to oils. In 1998, she and her husband opened a painting school in Marktredwitz (Bavaria), providing children with opportunities for creative development and helping school graduates prepare for further studies. She currently teaches at a school in Berlin.

Her works often center around a person, primarily women. However, she focuses not just on depicting individuals but also on the seemingly peripheral aspects of everyday culture. Her paintings convey expressions of the zeitgeist, inspired by the liberation, social position, and identity of women. Zoula has developed and perfected her own painting technique. For her, it is entirely irrelevant whether the outcome of her work aligns with a specific taste. What matters most is whether she has mastered her craft thoroughly.

The opening will feature musical accompaniment by Doreen Ooi (Australia). She takes the classical viola out of the orchestra and brings it into new realms, influenced by space, performance art, and experimental film. Her performance is based on contemporary solo pieces, enhanced by visuals. She has studied, collaborated, and performed with a range of international artists.
