FARB-ge-SCHICHTEN

The artist Bärbel Ertl-Beddig, who lives and works in Haan, is exhibiting in Düsseldorf for the first time.

For this premiere, we would like to present a selection of her current work. Ertl-Beddig creates her own oil paints, which are enhanced with natural materials, linseed oil, and pigments. She has also developed a unique technique for applying and removing layers of paint, resulting in a deep, multi-layered structure (with up to 10 layers applied on top of each other) that seemingly allows the viewer to "dive" into the artwork. The artist demonstrates a constant willingness to experiment with the materials she uses and combines, continually creating new effects within her pieces. At the same time, her sensitivity to color, honed through years of training with professors and other artists, can be described as exceptional. She consistently strives to find a balance between tension and tranquility solely through her skillfully chosen color compositions, taking into account the mix of materials used.
