Solo exhibition with Thomas Baumgärtel

He became known as the "Bananensprayer," with his idea of marking art locations worldwide with a banana, first implemented in Cologne in 1986. However, over the past decades, he has created much more, as the current exhibition at the Cologne gallery 30works demonstrates.

This series of works is in the tradition of photograms by artists like Man Ray: everyday objects such as tools, bottle openers, wine glasses, tea bags, or coat hangers are sprayed onto canvas or artificial leather.

"Art must have an impact," he says, "that's what it's all about!" The strength of Baumgärtel's art can now be discovered at 30works in Cologne.
