Find the Beauty. Exhibition by Kunsthandlung Langheinz for a Good Cause
In support of the Darmstadt Children's Clinics, Kunsthandlung Langheinz will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of works and images by Jutta Votteler. The opening reception, which the artist is traveling from Berlin to attend, will take place on September 20, 2013.

Jutta Votteler presents us with a beautiful, idyllic world. Her paintings transport us right into paradise. However, the artist is well aware that the here and now has many more facets. “My paintings are a response to the fact that the world is not as perfect as it seems,” explains Jutta Votteler. For this reason, Kunsthandlung Langheinz has decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the exhibition to the support association of the Darmstadt Children's Clinics.
The exhibition will feature four unique oil paintings on canvas, three sculptures, and around 40 color etchings. Votteler tells us small stories with open endings, enchanting encounters made visible with a fresh color palette, sometimes accompanied by finely dosed symbolism. Many of her graphics include references to the time of day, whether in the form of a brightly shining sun or a pale white moon. Birds, so close to the sky, symbolize ideas and thoughts and are recurring motifs in Votteler's graphics. The color etching “Parrot Tree” is filled with cheerful chirping, and one believes Jutta Votteler when she says: “Experiencing beauty in nature is a great joy. Moments when you experience this feel magical.”
In her art, she navigates between deeply felt experiences of nature and abstraction. She has developed a distinctive style that fascinates audiences worldwide. Kunsthandlung Langheinz has been collaborating with Jutta Votteler for over 20 years. The artist is internationally established, with her works featured in galleries in Fitzroy, Australia, Tokyo, Barcelona, Strasbourg, Stockholm, and elsewhere. “My paintings are an attempt to counteract finitude. What is broken in the world, I want to make whole again. Many people appreciate that. I create art that is understandable. The language is universal.”
Since reality is not only beautiful, the artist creates her own world. Perhaps Jutta Votteler is something of a dreamer, perceiving the world as it is: in its diversity and fragmentation, yet harmonious, in the struggle for survival, yet embedded in the beauty of creation, despite death and decay in the vibrant colors of a young morning. Her paintings invite us to perceive anew and to join her in a world still full of magic and wonder. Thus, the title of the exhibition is aptly “Find the Beauty!”
Kunsthandlung Langheinz presents around 50 exhibits as part of the exhibition. At the opening on September 20, 2013, Kunsthandlung Langheinz invites you to the vernissage, where Jutta Votteler will be present from 7 PM. Admission is free.
