Aufwachen - Channah Arc

EXTRO - You are warmly invited to the opening of "Waking Up" by Channah Arc on March 11, 2013, at 7:00 PM.

The exhibition features three distinct works by the photographer.

In "Waking Up," Channah Arc visualizes the various stages of awakening through self-portraiture.

Thoughts, eyes, mouth, and soul gradually open up to the new day. While the initial images convey a blurred, bright expression that is somewhat detached from reality, they slowly become darker and more attuned to the surroundings.

In "Me, Myself and I," Channah Arc employs photographic techniques to manipulate a painted self-portrait, giving it a constantly shifting impression.

With "Grumpy Grandpa," Channah Arc transforms portraits of an older gentleman wearing a swim cap. Initially hidden, then openly directed at the viewer, he appears grumpy, aloof, and stereotypical, yet infused with humor and charm.
