Maurice van Tellingen refers to the works of his three-dimensional art as 'spatial painting.' Prof. Dr. Eugen Blume from Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, described the pieces as follows:
"Maurice van Tellingen hangs his plastic images on the wall in a traditional manner, but as reliefs. Naturally, they are interiors of our time, not sentimental throwbacks to historical settings. And they are not deceptively realistic; rather, they are altered in such a way that the coldness of emotionless minimalism radiates from them onto the modern solutions for living spaces with their functional furnishings."
