Oliver Dehn LANDGANG
Landfall evokes the romantic notion of throngs of drunken sailors seeking out the nearest brothel after a long absence. In this apparent familiarity, they find a sense of security. The images of Oliver Dehn also appear strangely familiar, as the scenarios echo motifs from art history. The tension between the supposed ironic content and formal mastery challenges the viewer's perspective. Dehn's paintings offer the possibility of alternative sensory experiences.
