WESR & JADE : Behind the eyes

In May, Pretty Portal features the exhibition "Behind the Eyes" (In the streets of Lima) by the two Peruvian Urban Artists Danny Figueroa aka WESR and Jonathan Rivera Enriques aka JADE.

Both belong to the founders of the Peruvian Urban Art and Streetart scene. Their works are dominated by figurative elements with bright colours, which grace many houses of the Peruvian capital Lima. WESR and JADE find inspiration for their work in the Peruvian culture and folklore. The traditional Ukuku masks are continually found in the works of WESR.

WESR regularly commutes between Peru and his newly adopted home, Berlin. In recent years, he painted large murals on the Stroke Artfair Cityleaks Festival and showed his works on exhibitions in Berlin and Munich. For JADE, the exhibition at Pretty Portal Gallery will be his first visit to Germany.

In the exhibition "Behind the Eyes", the two artists show drawings and illustrations on paper and acrylic paintings on canvas.
