The gallery presents a three-part exhibition showcasing paper works from the now three-year-old internet project www.blattformer.de.
www.blattformer.de is an image blog initiated by artists Peter Freitag and Ruprecht Dreher about two and a half years ago, aimed at creating a continuous publication of paper cuts—a flow of artistic works that treat and model paper (e.g., collages, folds, etc.).

They regularly invite other artists to collaborate on this project.

The platform spreads as a blog on the internet and through Facebook, and has now garnered numerous subscribers who are surprised daily by fresh paper works appearing on their computer screens.

In addition to promoting art, the explicit intention is to explore and develop ways for direct marketing of artworks. With each new paper work published online, the artists make an extremely attractive purchase offer to stimulate attention and desire to buy.

Through a limited-time opportunity (24 hours), anyone can place a minimum bid (e.g., 123!€) or more for a work and then own it as the highest bidder. Otherwise, the artworks can be purchased directly from the artists at market prices through contact facilitation.

In the first year of www.blattformer.de, Ruprecht Dreher and Peter Freitag committed to producing and posting a silhouette daily, alternating each day: “THE DAILY CUT” resulted in 365 sheets! An impressive virtual wall of sheets that will now be partially pinned up analogously at kartüche gallery in Neukölln, Berlin.

In the second year, paper works were presented weekly in blocks. Works by various artists in different configurations could be flipped through like a “WEEKLY MAGAZINE.” Selected pieces (including those by Carsten Sievers, Thomas Jocher, Marcus Bjernerup, Heidi Sill...) are now organized into blocks for real-life viewing.

In the third year, reflected in the third part of the exhibition, the paper works return to being daily companions online, appearing in a calendar-like fashion, surprising from day to day, irregularly, sometimes by this artist, sometimes by that one of the currently involved nine different artists (including Michel Carmantrand, Laurence Grave, Ross Walker...). The spirit of experimentation is increasingly evident!

During the 8-day exhibition, a new paper work will be displayed each day both online at www.blattformer.de and in the gallery window. This work can be purchased for the minimum bid of “123!€” or the highest bid (within 24 hours!).
