When Martin Lengemann indulges his passion, he allows himself to be enchanted and seduced.

Music, classical music, is his passion, and he knows it all. They have all been in front of his camera: conductors, dancers, and singers.

Where could an exhibition be more fitting than in the composer district of Berlin-Weißensee? Among all the great names of classical music, the Extro Gallery showcases Martin Lengemann's images of conductors and the dancers of the Staatsballett Berlin.

Who would expect to see Polina Semionova and Vladimr Malakhov at the subway station 'Deutsche Oper' as Odette/Odile and Siegfried from Swan Lake, while swans stroll across a crosswalk near Charlottenburg Palace?

They are observed by conductors like Zubin Mehta, Peter Maxwell Davies, and Herbert Blomstedt, who are depicted in impressive portraits from the opposite side.

Martin U.K. Lengemann is primarily a staff photographer for Welt, Welt am Sonntag, and Berliner Morgenpost.

The portraits he created there were published in the 2011 photo book "Menschen aus Berlin." For his work, he received the "Award of Excellence" from the Society of Design in 2010 and the 1st Prize of the European Newspaper Award for concept and innovation in 2011.
