Dimensionen - Zeichnung im Raum
Silke Katharina Hahn's exploration focuses on the transformation of materials through heat. Her preferred materials are hot glue and wax. The impression is one of reduction, concentration, and reflection.
At the center is the color black. A complex black that contains all colors yet serves as a counterpoint to the overwhelming and often daunting vibrancy of everyday life.
Hahn's work with hot glue represents a dual transformation. Through heat, the adhesive changes, as does the "worked" space. Hahn engages directly with the glue in the space, drawing lines—many lines. A multifaceted tangle of lines emerges, merging and growing from the wall into the room. The works possess a fluid quality, reminiscent of molten lava spreading as it melts.
Everything is in constant transformation, without beginning or end. In Hahn's works, the viewer frequently encounters the circle as a universal symbol of infinity, perfection, the whole, and the timelessness of space.
With wax and acrylic paint, the artist addresses the infinite and ultimately unimaginable cosmic space in her triptych "stars."
